Zone Zero 1.6: The Silence and Pain Behind the Power

Life is always like this. It gives you a bunch of unsolvable problems, and makes you grope forward in failures and setbacks. When you finally seem to have grasped some answers, you look up and find that there is no one or anything around you that you can trust. You can pretend to be strong and rational, and tell yourself “I don’t care”, but in fact you care to death. In the three new characters of “Zero” version 1.6 – Silver Heart Tin Soldier Amby, Pokona and Trigger, you can see this heart-wrenching helplessness and pain. Behind everyone’s strength are pieces of unrepairable wounds, which piece together the cold and ruthless shell of today.

Silver Heart Tin Soldier Amby is a simple character, or an extremely complex character. He seems to be full of power, with unmatched combat capabilities and an attack method as fast as electric current, but what he has experienced is not just a simple battle. He is a person abandoned by fate, a person caught in the vortex of history. All external forces are forcing him to choose coldness and strength. You may think that he doesn’t care. He performs tasks like a robot in battle, expressionless and cold-blooded. But have you ever thought that behind this coldness, there is a former “person”, a person who once had a smile and warm memories?

Ambi’s world is full of confusion and subversion. He carries all the glory and failures of the past, and every battle is a dialogue between him and his past self. His strength is not innate, but slowly shaped through repeated self-denial. His strength is his “compensation” for the vulnerable human nature. He used to rely on others, but the reliance brought him only disappointment and betrayal. Therefore, he chose to make himself a cold machine, freezing the temperature of all interpersonal relationships in seemingly insensitive actions.

However, deep in Ambi’s heart, there is still a dream that he refuses to give up completely. This dream has long been eroded by time, but it is still deeply rooted in his heart like a tumor. Every time he raises the electric sword, he is making the last struggle-can he still be comforted by warmth? Will there be another day in this world that will give him a reason to rely on? Unfortunately, all this can only be reflected on the cold battlefield.

Pokona is somewhat similar to Ambi, but she looks stronger. She is a thorough “warrior”, calm and decisive, capable of dealing with any complex situation. But her strength may not be innate, but the product of life’s tempering. Deep in her heart, there are countless unhealed wounds. These wounds do not come from the outside world, but from the pain and betrayal she has received when she has tried to get close to others again and again.

Pokona no longer believes in “dependence”. Her experience tells her that relying on others means you have to accept their uncertainty and instability; and trusting others means you are destined to be hurt. She knows clearly that only by relying on her own strength can she live less painfully. So, she began to become numb. She began to pretend not to care about the eyes of others, and not to care about anyone’s feelings. For her, fighting is the only reason worth persisting. Cold and rational, these words have become her way of life.

You will find that Pokona’s eyes are sometimes empty, which is the result of being accustomed to loneliness for a long time. Her heart no longer holds any warmth, only calmness and concentration on the battle. She doesn’t need anyone, she is strong enough. But does she know that she has locked up everything she can love in her heart? Does she realize that in the process of constantly pursuing power, she has lost the ability to connect with others?

Trigger, standing behind the two men, seems even more isolated. She doesn’t need any complicated emotions, because she has made her world extremely simple – only fighting, only killing. Her mission is clear and simple, that is, not to be shaken by anything in the face of tasks and missions. And this is where her strength lies. Her eyes are still cold, even a little numb, as if she has long lost any interest in the word “emotion”. Her coldness is not innate, but a fact that she is finally forced to accept after the precipitation of life.

Trigger’s story is not complicated, she does not need too much background rendering, just a simple fact: she is a survivor. She lives more clearly than anyone else, knowing that all complex emotions are just a burden of survival, so she would rather choose not to care about them. In her eyes, there are only future battles and endless tasks. She has already thrown all her emotions and tenderness into the bottomless darkness.

However, the fate of these characters is not perfect. Whether it is the Silver Heart Tin Soldier Ambi, Pokona, or Trigger, the reason why they become so cold and tough is not because they are born like this, but because life has given them all this. Behind their strength, there is the accumulation of pain and the cracks that cannot be healed in the depths of their hearts. They seem to have everything, but in fact they have lost the most precious thing-the softness and warmth of human nature.

These characters in the 1.6 version of “Zero” are not just fighting machines, they are more like lonely souls who are constantly trying to find a sense of belonging. In this world full of danger and hostility, they use their cold appearance to cover up their inner fragility and use battles to fill the deep void in their hearts. And each of us may also play a similar role to them to some extent. We may have been hurt, or we may have longed for dependence and warmth, but in the end, we still choose to be strong and choose to face all the pain and loneliness alone.

Perhaps, this is the true portrayal of life – we are all using our own way to resist the world, the weakness in our hearts, and the people and things that have hurt us. Being strong does not mean not getting hurt again, but learning how to live better in pain and how to find warmth in the cold.
