Genshin Impact 5.7 Version Banner Revealed: Silcock and Thalia Make Their Debut!
Fellow travelers, exciting news has arrived! The 5.7 version of Genshin Impact is about to go live, and new characters Silcock and Thalia are set to appear! As a seasoned Genshin Impact player, seeing these new characters is truly thrilling! Today, let’s take a closer look at the details of these two new characters!
New Character Debut
Silcock
Silcock, the new Ice-type character, is said to be the mentor of “Young Master” Dainsleif, the strongest warrior from the Abyss. Although she is always silent and uncommunicative in Dainsleif’s memories, she only acknowledges true strength. Her martial arts and secret arts were learned from “Khaenri’ah, the strongest of the Abyss,” making her abilities genuinely formidable.
Silcock’s combat role is that of an Ice-type sword-wielding character, with extremely unique skill designs. Here are some of her skills:
Reason Beyond the Zeroth Law: When nearby party members trigger Freeze, Superconduct, Ice Elemental Absorption, or Ice Elemental Crystallization reactions, a rift in the virtual realm is created near enemies. Silcock can absorb these rifts in a specific way, gaining 8 points of Serpent’s Cunning each time. This mechanism sounds incredibly powerful, and it will surely be devastating when combined with team coordination!
Myriad Streams Converge in Silence: When nearby party members with Water or Ice elements deal damage, Silcock gains the effect of River Sanctuary, which can stack up to 3 layers. Each layer increases her Normal Attack and Elemental Burst damage. This buff mechanism makes her even more formidable in battle!
As for her artifact set, the newly added Deep Corridor Sonata set from version 5.5 is very likely her dedicated set. The 2-piece set provides a 15% increase in Ice-elemental damage, while the 4-piece set increases Normal Attack and Elemental Burst damage when Elemental Energy is at 0, though it has a 6-second cooldown. Such effects are tailor-made for Silcock!
Silcock’s background story is also very captivating. She once taught the young Dainsleif martial arts in the Abyss and even told him the secrets of the whales that devour stars. Although Dainsleif later became an executor of the Harbingers, he never gave up searching for Silcock. Such deep bonds between mentor and student are truly admirable.
Thalia
Thalia is a 4-star Water-type sword-wielding character in the new version and also the first Water-type shield character! Her Elemental Burst skill provides shields for party members while increasing the attack speed based on Thalia’s maximum HP, up to 15%. This design makes Thalia both a shield provider and an offensive supporter for the team, making her extremely versatile!
Thalia’s appearance will undoubtedly provide more strategic options for the team. Especially when paired with other Water or Ice-type characters, the effects are even more enhanced. His skill design makes him feel like a core team character, especially in teams that require shields and speed boosts.
